Portrait of Dr. Warren Upham, author of "Minnesota Place Names: A Geographical Encyclopeida" - Dr. Warren Upham, a geologist, archaeologist, and librarian who wrote "Minnesota Place Names: a Geographical Encyclopedia." He is considered to be part of the first group of Minnesota scientists to make the first survey of the state's geology. This image is by Arthur Adams, Minneapolis high school teacher, local historian, and photographer. Adams traveled throughout Minnesota, taking photographs to augment his lectures.
